Trends change every season. The brands people remember are the ones that stay recognisably themselves. Here are five principles we return to on every brand project.
1. Start with a position, not a logo
A logo is a signature. Before drawing one, decide what you stand for, who you are for and why you are different. Everything visual should follow from that.
2. Say fewer things, more clearly
Brands that try to say everything are remembered for nothing. Choose one promise and prove it repeatedly.
3. Build a system, not a one-off
Colour, type, imagery and tone of voice should work together so that any team member or supplier can produce something that feels unmistakably yours.
4. Design for every touchpoint
Your brand lives on a website, an invitation, a stage, an invoice. Test the identity in the real places customers meet it.
5. Review and refine
Timeless does not mean frozen. Revisit how the brand performs each year and evolve it with care, keeping the elements people already recognise.
